Marijuana Possession Limits in Nevada

Since January 1, 2024 (Senate Bill 277), the limit for adults 21+ is higher than it used to be. Here are the official numbers.

Last reviewed October 22, 2026

The limits

Adults 21 and older may possess up to 2.5 ounces (70.875 g) of usable cannabis, or up to 1/4 ounce of concentrated cannabis or cannabis products containing not more than 7,087 mg of THC, or a combination that does not exceed the legal limit.

Stores may not sell more than that amount in a single transaction.

Mixing flower and other products

The CCB publishes an equivalency chart. For example, according to that chart, 1 ounce of flower plus up to 4,255 mg THC in other products is within the limit, and 2.5 ounces of flower leaves 0 mg for other products.

Older limits you may see online

Many travel sites still quote the old 1 ounce / 1/8 ounce limits. Those changed on January 1, 2024. Use the CCB numbers above.
